Common questions about the e-receipt transition
Deadlines, fiscalization, hardware sourcing and international POS localization. Clear answers in one place.
What is the e-receipt transition really about?
Many people do not realize this is not just a new receipt format. In practice the whole fiscal environment has to be adapted to NAV’s new expectations. In one sentence, in the e-receipt era NAV no longer treats the paper document as the authoritative proof of a transaction, but the electronic receipt created on NAV’s central servers. Every further process has to start from that electronic transaction record. Receipt data must reach the authority under the new rules, and the POS, the Fiscal Unit and the store processes have to work together. We take the project from specification and developer coordination through go live. This puts new tasks on every retailer that uses a cash register, and businesses that were not obligated before will be obligated now as well.
What are the mandatory deadlines, and why act now?
Mandatory receipt data reporting starts on 1 September 2026 for both manual and computer generated receipts. NAV gives a grace period until the end of the year, and in that window it tends to help more than penalize. From 1 January 2027 sanctions may already apply. At the same time online cash registers are being phased out, and obligated businesses must move to hardware based e cash registers by 1 July 2028 at the latest. Grace time does not mean the project can wait. At enterprise scale, specification, hardware sourcing, foreign developer cycles and testing take months. If you decide now, you still control the timeline. If you wait, you will later compete for vendor capacity.
We run a foreign POS. Can you fiscalize that too?
Yes, this is one of our main strengths. International vendors rarely know Hungarian fiscal rules in the depth a successful transition needs. We give foreign developers a clear specification, keep the professional dialogue in English when needed, and drive the decisions through. You do not have to replace the checkout just because of this. We integrate with your existing system when it is technically and legally realistic.
Do you also source and deliver hardware, vendor independently?
Yes. We can procure, deliver and integrate Fiscal Units, terminals and related store hardware at fair prices, with nationwide on site support. We work as independent experts and are not locked to any single hardware or software vendor. Your interest drives the choice, not a manufacturer quota. We recommend what fits your environment, schedule and budget best.
Why AdiumSoft, and why now?
We are one of Hungary’s most prepared fiscal teams. We have our own ADS Retail Cloud POS, and we have worked for years in live enterprise environments, including Auchan and MOL. We know what NAV asks for, what a foreign developer understands, and where these projects usually slip. We are now open to supporting other companies as well. We offer the same professional depth and project discipline to teams that want to complete the transition safely, not experiment with it.
What does POS localization mean with you?
Full Hungary localization of an international checkout system, with ownership and on deadline. That includes fiscal compliance, AE integration, regulatory expectations, specification, developer enablement and project management.
Do you guarantee delivery quality and deadlines?
Yes. We work to an agreed schedule, lock the critical milestones, and take professional ownership of the delivered solution. If you only need a partial task, for example specification, hardware or go live support, we can do that too. If you need the full project, we run it as a single accountable owner.
